NM - Hi Joanne and Jim, thank you for interviewing with NaturalMuscle. Let's start off with how you both got involved with Bodybuilding and Figure.

J&J- We have always worked out but about 2 years ago we started working out at a local gym called Wolf Fitness. As we progressed there Dave and Liz Wolf encouraged us to do a show. LasJim & Jo 1t October (2008) we did our first show with you and this coming April we plan on competing in our second show.

NM – I have to go here, how is it with Husband and Wife dieting at the same time for the same show?

J&J - Actually it was great. It is much easier when you both are eating the same way. Since it is such a strict diet it is nice to make the same meal and not have your husband/wife eating something that you would love to be eating across from you.

NM – Since we are on the subject of diets, what are yours like?

J&J - Right now we are both on a maintain diet which consists of a lot of protein, low carbs and low sugar. We usually get 1 day where we get to cheat and have something that we love but don’t get to eat much. Once we get about 3 months out we will go on a much stricter diet which will cut out sugar, a lot of carbs, diary and alcohol. This diet will cut our calorie intake down quote a bit which will help us lose weight to shred down to the weight/percent of body fat we would like to be at for show time.

NM – Tell us what your training week is like? Do you train together or separate?

J&J - We would love to train together but since we have a 3 and 4 year old it makes it very difficult unless we are working out at home. We both train 4 days at the gym and then 1-2 days at home. Joanne always work out in the early morning before the kids get up and Jim works out at night and on the opposite mornings Joanne does not go in. Right now each day we work on a different body part and do a little cardio. Since the last show we have been focusing on adding as much muscle as possible. Once it gets closer to the show we Jim& Jo Metstill do our regular workouts but we will add in at least 1 extra hour of cardio a day.

NM – Any particular training philosophies or principles that you may use?

J&J - In order to make your workout successful you must push yourself to failure.

NM – With the Holidays on the way, and that you have a full family, how do you both manage the diets.

J&J - We are trying to be under our goal for weight/body fat of January now so we can cheat a little throughout the holidays.

NM – What do you both like to do that has nothing to do with Bodybuilding Jim & Jo 2or working out?

J&J- We both like to relax at home and hang out with our kids.

NM – Finally, what do you both do for a living?

J&J - Jim owns Dual Printing and I work for him.
